IBI SPIKES was founded by IBI Capital of IBI Investment House group, one of the leading investment houses in Israel, and by SPIKES’ team of three Israeli/American entrepreneurs with a wide experience in startups’ funding, including hundreds of RBF transactions, and in global financial markets.
Our mission is to change the way startups raise capital. Our philosophy is simple: businesses should have equitable access to fast, fair, and flexible financing without dilution to the founders and shareholders.

Management

BJ has over 20 years of experience in funding and leading startups. Most recently BJ served for seven years as CEO of Lighter Capital, a leading RBF investor in the U.S. Under his leadership, Lighter Capital grew to the most active RBF fund in the world. During his tenure, Lighter completed over 650 financings of tech startups.

​ Prior to Lighter Capital, BJ served as CFO of a public cleantech company, Power Efficiency, and as a Partner in a VC fund, Summit Energy Ventures, which funded Seed and Series A equity rounds. BJ holds an MA in International Studies & an MBA from the University of Washington.

BJ Lackland - CIO

Gideon brings over 20 years of startup management and investment experience. He founded and led two startups (including an M&A exit – Vokee). Gideon also co-founded Pekan Alternative energy mutual fund which was one of the top performing funds in Israel until Bank Hapoalim acquired it. In the past, Gideon worked as an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) for precede VC.

​Gideon holds an MBA from INSEAD, France and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

Dave was appointed CEO of the IBI Group at the beginning of 2019. Previously he was CEO of IBI Amban Investment Portfolio Management, a role in which he utilized his extensive experience in investment management for both private and institutional clients. His specialty areas are alternative investment, pension planning and taxation issues. Dave has worked in a number of management roles across the IBI Group and was previously deputy CEO of IBI Amban, Corporate and Institutional Client Manager, Chief Investment Officer of group's provident fund management unit, IBI Gemel, and dealing room managers.

He is currently a member of the IBI board and chairman of IBI Mutual Funds.

Dave graduated from Tel Aviv University with a BA degree in Economics. He is an ISA – licensed portfolio manager and also has a pension marketing license from the Ministry of Finance.

Dave Lubetzky - CEO, IBI Investment House

Tal joined I.B.I and held a series of management roles before being taking up his current position as Chief Executive of IBI Capital. He brings extensive financial market experience covering areas such as portfolio and fund management, research and equity trading.

Tal has BA degree in Economics and an MBA, both from Tel Aviv University in addition to holding an investment portfolio management certificate from the Israel Securities Authority.

Tal Dori - CEO, IBI Capital

Tzvika is the founding partner of 102 Trust which recently merged with I.B.I Capital. A veteran of the capital market with hands – on experience in advising M&A transactions and employee benefit plan design, he oversees all aspects of the professional administration of trusts including taxation, AML and general regulatory compliance. Before founding 102 Trust Tzvika held a senior role at the Israel Tax Authority where he was responsible for capital market regulation and employee benefits. He then went on to work at the law firm Herzog Fox & Neeman where he served as an associate with the firm's Tax practice.

In addition to founding 102 Trust, Tzvika has acted as adviser to the government on tax legislation and has also advised the banks sector on capital market – related issues. He also serves as board chairman at the independent supermarket chain AB Victory.

Tzvika is also a certified public accountant. He holds a BA in Accounting and Economics from Haifa University, an MBA from Tel Aviv University and earned his LL.B. from the Ono Academic College.
